How to type Sinhala with an English keyboard
Write the sounds of each Sinhala word with English letters. Use doubled vowels for long sounds: aa, ii and uu. Use ae for ඇ, aee for ඈ, ee for ඒ, ai for ඓ, oo for ඕ and au for ඖ. Common consonants include th for ත, d for ද, dh for ධ, sh for ශ and Sh for ෂ.
The Sinhala output remains editable, so you can correct a spelling or add punctuation before copying it. Text between braces is preserved as English without the braces, which is useful for names, URLs and technical terms.
Phonetic conversion is not translation or spell-checking
Singlish spelling is not fully standardized, and names or uncommon consonant combinations can have more than one correct Sinhala form. Read and edit the output before publishing important text. This tool does not translate English sentences into Sinhala.

No. It converts phonetic Singlish spelling into Sinhala characters. You must write the Sinhala sounds you intend, rather than an English sentence that needs translation.
How can I keep a name, URL or English phrase unchanged?
Place the English text inside braces while typing. The tool keeps the text and removes the braces from the Sinhala output.
Can I use the tool on a phone?
